Current Amount Due- FAQ

How do I Determine a Client's Current Amount Due?

First, your organization needs to determine what the collections "goal" is: restated, how far ahead of a delinquent balance do you want to maintain client balances at. Once you determine this,  the "Balance on File" data point is what you will want to reference.

The "Amount Due" is however much money collected will return the offender to your organization's goal.

For example, if you want to keep offenders 14 days or more ahead of delinquent and an individual currently has Pool funds for seven days of Monitoring remaining, you will want to charge them at least seven days Monitoring fees to bring them into compliance with your internal policies. In general, we recommend building up a large of a pool balance as possible if the offender in question doesn't have a determined end date. When they come off the program, the remainder can simply be refunded.

Notes
Note though that if they have a negative balance of $70, and a daily rate of $10, taking a $70 payment will not get them credit enough for seven more days- it will only cover their existing outstanding balance. Aguardion offers you a few shortcuts, but sometimes a little basic math will be required to bring the balances to where you want them to be ideally.

WarningNotes
Also note that Aguardion doesn’t bill for that day until midnight: this must be taken into account when providing them an amount to pay.
